a gallery wall

so as i mentioned in the last post, we've been living with the in-laws... thankfully, we are able to live in the basement and create our own little home down there.  recently i've been decorating and cleaning to make it feel like our own little sanctuary. i found this little tennis racket that ended up becoming the inspiration for my gallery wall - combining old objects with newer elements as well.

this is the wall before... thats a little wall heater thing on the left and our lovely shoe rack on the right side since we are lacking in closet space.

this is the gallery wall in progress... as you can see most of the frames don't have pictures in them. i find it easier to do it this way so that you pick which size and layout of pictures you need once you know where all your frames are going.

now, some would say i'm OCD, but in a gallery wall... i'm usually more laid back. i don't map it out or anything, i just start with my inspiration piece and move outwards. in this case, the mirror was already hung and i didn't want to move it (in true jenna laziness) and then i hung the tennis racket and moved outward hanging frames and other odd things.

here the wall is finished and even decorated for christmas a little bit (happy happy face!!)

now go create your own gallery wall!! there's pretty much no wrong way to do it.
